1810/09 Overdate Classic Head Large Cent (S-281 / R1) – NICE w/ Clear Date!Description:
This nice looking 1810 Large Cent has original looking color and nice detail. On the obv., the date and LIBERTY are clear. Rev. sharpness is consistent with the obv. with all of the legend and ONE CENT visible. There is a shallow planchet defect on the rev. near the rim at the “F” in OF. The rims on both sides are full & smooth. The color is original dark chocolate & steel brown. There are no huge problems, and the eye appeal is superb for the grade (please see pictures).
This coin will make great addition to a date set or type collection of Large Cents.

After a six month journey around the tip of South America, the ship arrived at the mouth of the Columbia River where Astor's men established the fur-trading town of Astoria. The recorded mintage of cents in 1810 was 1.46 million.
