Here's an antique Weeden vertical steam engine in its original box, with its original cardboard packing forms.
Condition is good throughout, as you can see in the photographs. There's tarnish on the brass, but no corrosion, and the decal is still reasonably bright and crisp. Burner assembly is complete and in good shape, with its original wick still intact. The glass dropper for measuring water into the tank appears to be original to the set; its red rubber bulb has dried up and deteriorated. Piston moves freely up and down. I placed an ounce of water in the tank and heated it up with a candle but could only get the engine to whistle when I opened the top valve. Could not get the piston to move up and down, so I suspect the engine will need some work or adjustment if you wish to make it operational.
Box is in reasonably good shape given its age and utility, and the cardboard insert is in reasonably good shape too.
