Original, sharp looking US release 1-sheet poster for the Universal Int'l Pictures south of the border Civil War Western BORDER RIVER (1954) starring Hollywood Walk of Famers JOEL McCRAE and YVONNE DE CARLO. (Did you know De Carlo has 2 Walk of Fame stars?  One for her movies, and one for her role as Lily in TV's THE MUNSTERS.)
The film also stars PEDRO ARMENDARIZ one of the best-known Latin American movie stars of the 1940s and 1950s, who collaborated with many of the finest directors - John Ford, Luis Bunuel, John Huston, and Michael Curtiz. Sadly, his last role was in the 2nd James Bond movie FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (1963) which he could not finish because of his developing cancer caused from being on the set of the Howard Hughes Genghis Khan production THE CONQUEROR (1956) starring John Wayne. Armendáriz, along with 91 other cast & crew, developed cancer after working in the fall-out area of atmospheric nuclear testing conducted by the US government. While in the hospital, Armendáriz
smuggled in a gun, shot himself in the chest, and died.
In the end, 46 cast & crew of THE CONQUEROR died from cancer complications including The Duke.

unrestored poster measuring approximately 27" x 41"
