"La Casa del Angel" ("The House of the Angel") is a black and white Argentine film that premiered on July 11, 1957, based on the Emecé Award -winning novel of the same name by Beatriz Guido, published in 1954 and which served as a springboard to a fruitful literary career. Taken to the cinema by her husband, the film director Leopoldo Torre Nilsson, it soon became a box office success, both for its aesthetics and for the novelty of the way in which it had been filmed.
The House of the Angel was selected as the second best Argentine cinema film of all time in the survey carried out by the Pablo Ducrós Hicken Cinema Museum in 1977, while it ranked 6th in the 1984 edition and 10th in the 2000.​
