    1-OF-A-KIND ELVIS COLLECTION!
THE ULTIMATE POSTERS ON THE KING!!
Elvis Presley is arguably the greatest entertainer in recorded history. What's NOT arguable is the fact that these three 40x60 posters constitute
    THE
best and RAREST Elvis posters from each one of the THREE (3) decades in which he worked.
    THE 1950s
    No question,
    Jailhouse Rock
is the single greatest Elvis title in his film repertoire. This rare poster offered here is a 1-of-a-kind 40x60, and, is no question the single rarest poster known to have survived from the original 1957 release of the now classic. It's the rare style "Z" 40x60 issued by the National Screen Service back in 1957 to advertise Jailhouse Rock when it first broke. And break it did. That is, all expectations on the cinematic appeal of the crossover music sensation. Elvis never looked back, as he went on to make dozens of feature films to come before his movie career would subside in the 1970's. This poster is also considered the nicest design on the film's original 1957 campaign. This image appears on NO other posters! It's arguably the greatest Elvis poster of all time!
This original is in Excellent to Very Fine+ condition!
It was originally issued rolled. It suffered a slight crease in the middle, and so I had it paper-backed by one of the TOP conservators in the country to flatten out the fold and to address the imperfections throughout from the original handling at the theater in the '50s. It's ready for display as the centerpiece of any 1950's movie poster collection or Elvis shrine. A nicer item would be impossible to find. It's been stored
    flat
in protective shrink-wrap against foamcore, to protect the poster from developing a heavy curl from being stored in a tube. I'll keep it in the protective shrink-wrap, and so it'll be shipped FLAT in a professional package to make sure it arrives nice.
Though you see the other (yellow) style "Y" 40x60 offered out on Jailhouse Rock, there isn't a single auction house record for another original NSS Style "Z" 40x60 poster. Additionally, no other dealers around the country (or elsewhere in the world) have this Style "Z" available for purchase. It's that RARE! More importantly, it's that NICE! Check out the stellar artwork of THE KING at the prime of his youth! This is when Elvis was known as "The Pelvis!"
    THE 1960s
It was Elvis' time to "come back" into the public spotlight. The now more than famous Elvis Presley "68 Comeback Special" aired December 3rd of that year to record breaking viewership, bringing "The King" back into the game. In fact, it left him on top, or at least in TOP form. Production on
    Trouble With Girls
was already in full swing when the TV special aired. It was released only 5 months later. The poster design is clearly meant to capitalize on the recent success of the special. The big
    ELVIS '69
tag across the top dominates the poster, dwarfing the treatment of film's title. Obviously, this poster was meant to represent "Elvis" as an entertainment force - not the actual specific film it's advertising. It succeeded, as it's a stellar lithograph with high design right out of the school [or "Factory"] of Andy Warhol design and the Pop Art movement, which was RAGING at its peak back in 1969 when this poster was printed. It serves as the
    official
announcement to the public that the
    new
Elvis is here! The image is FRESH and BRIGHT and filled with great youthful energy. So was Elvis, as he was about to embark on the next chapter in his legendary career as an entertainer.
    THE 1970s
    THE VEGAS YEARS!
A new iteration of the King emerged on stage during the 1970's with Elvis' Las Vegas act. A new look and a new karate fighting Elvis drew thousands to the desert strip so they could experience the live stage performances. Nobody was disappointed, as Elvis gave it his all on stage. It was a defining period for the King, as he solidified his prowess as THE #1 legendary entertainer of the 20th Century, not to mention solidifying the jumpsuit as his signature garb. This poster represents the energy and exuberance of his work during this decade better than any other art released at the time. The MGM
    documentary
this 40x60 is advertising is aptly called,
    Elvis On Tour
. It captures the Vegas and/or stage performing period of his life perfectly! So did the film, with its GREAT multi-screen presentation, which still remains unique in the history of music related cinema.
    ALL THREE (3) 40X60
poster designs and colorations really compliment each other. The triptych represents the best of Elvis in the three distinctly different periods of his life. The set represents the KING and his magic perfectly - you'd' need nothing else! "The Trouble With Girls" and the "Elvis on Tour" are in
Excellent to Very Fine+ ORIGINAL UNRESTORED CONDITION
    !
These two are NOT paper-mounted. They are rolled, but, will be shipped in the same flat-pack as the "Jailhouse Rock." These two were theater used and have all the normal wear you'd expect to see from an NSS 40x60 from the periods released. There is some writing and tape on verso but it doesn't affect the front. They have minor imperfections throughout but display very nicely.
I'VE POSTED PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS OF ALL 3 40x60 POSTERS YOU’LL BE GETTING!
40x60 (or 60x40) inch movie posters:
these lithographs are Premium deluxe poster displays used at movie theaters. Many consider these the greatest movie posters ever made. They certainly were the highest quality movie posters made. They were also the most costly for theater owners to display, as much as ten times that of a one sheet. Finer printing on deluxe art quality paper as well as the eye-catching size made the cost easy to swallow for the big theaters that could justify the expense! Not that many were made or ordered as compared to the smaller posters. That's why these are so rare. That, and, the fact this large size was not as easily stored as the folded 1-sheets, and so most 40x60 posters made from 1957 to 1972 got thrown out!
    LINEN-MOUNTING & CONSERVATION PAPER BACKING
is an accepted form of poster preservation by the Library of Congress and every Museum in the country. Except for one or two,
every one of the top twenty 0,000.00 and up most expensive selling movie posters were all paper or linen-mounted
. A lot of advanced poster buyers request and prefer mounted posters because it makes framing and displaying the posters much easier. All of my backed posters have been stored FLAT so they DO NOT have a curl from storing them rolled in a tube - They're ready for framing and display!
Buying this poster set is ECONOMY PROOF!
Why waste your money in the stock market? It can crash regardless of any decision you make and can even crash regardless of any decision made by the company related to the stock - Leaving you with a near worthless piece of paper that won't inspire anyone! With the purchase of an historic document such as this original set of Elvis 40x60s, it doesn't matter what happens to the economy, you'll still have the posters, which can be displayed and enjoyed. The magnificence of art and historic documents have an inherent value that relates to civilization and society. Unless civilization itself crashes then these pieces will hold their value, and, if civilization itself crashes - Who'll care about money?
This poster set is definitely ECONOMY PROOF!
