GILDA Rita Hayworth Linen-Backed Original One-Sheet Re-release 1950 (27X41)

Description

Gilda (Columbia, R-1950). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Rita Hayworth is incandescent in her signature role as the sensual spouse of an Argentinean crime lord. Glenn Ford co-stars as the small-time hood who makes a play for the boss's wife. This evocative one sheet features an iconic image of Hayworth with a smoldering cigarette, which is a duotone reworking of the original and beautiful style A one sheet.
Important Added Info: Note that this re-release poster appears to have been printed from the exact same plates as the original, but with different coloring. Often, two color re-releases are disappointing, but many find this orange and black design very striking, given the iconic sexy smoking image of Rita against a black background. And this poster (which was made only four years after the original release) is certainly an attractive alternative to the gazillion dollar original 1946 release poster with the same image! Also note that the poster says "A COLUMBIA REPRINT" in the lower right corner. This was a terminology used by Columbia Pictures at this time for some re-releases, and it has caused some collectors to be confused! This poster is the original poster from the 1950 re-release of this movie, and is NOT a "reprint"!
The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny bits of paper loss in parts of the vertical fold, with a lesser amount of wear on the horizontal folds. It had pinholes in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Please see enlarged images above for details.
