    Description

Here we have what has been described as a fancy-looking, but relatively basic model of a German accordion or Deutsche Harmonika.   While it appears to be older, the embossed corner plates have identified it as not earlier than 1890's.    The rampant lion and lyre trademark is said to represent a Georgenthal, Klingenthal saxony maker by the name of Louis Oswald Herold.   This piece is in rough shape but has been in the family forever, that of William Farnum, noted actor of silent films and films from 1918-1954.   I know not if this was used in any films as there are hundreds that would have to be reviewed but it seems his family estate has many pieces that he acquired during his filming time in Hollywood.  Helping a friend with research and listing many family pieces that are needing to be removed from storage and found a new home.    Information was provided via a knowledgeable accordion site, but no value was provided for the piece.
See photos to answer most questions and make an informed decision before making a bid or offer and  ask what you need and I will try to provide answers about the product.   Proceeds from this and all other ebay sales help to supplement my science classroom purchases of materials and equipment.   Thank a teacher and shop generously and let your friends know about ebay seller       esteem1     .   While prices are very competitive they are still mostly negotiable as some funds beat no funds for my class.    Have a great day.  Damien
