  • Condition: Almost New, One owner went through 1 1/2 lesson book after getting it for Christmas in 1961. Looks like it came out of a time capsule. Best one one the market to date. Small wear marks on chrome corner hardware, and a small gouge on the case where the hinge scraped it when closing is all that stands out to me (an amateur). See pics and description. Description

This is a nice find that pretty much sat untouched in the original vinyl cover over the custom case for 60 years. It is well preserved. I am not an expert, so I took it to the original dealer, Petosa Accordians in Lynnwood, Washington who showed me the original purchase card dated Dec 23rd 1961, from their store that was then in Seattle. I obtained it from the estate of the then young person who got it for Christmas. Although this is hearsay, and it is buyer beware, as I am not an expert, the lead technician gave me a free appraisal of the instrument that consisted of him checking each key and button, opening it up and inspecting the valves and reeds  (not a detailed inspection, but he new what he was doing) and checked three or four other things and indicated to me that he saw no significant or even minor problems with the instrument. I indicated that I intended on re-selling it and wanted to make sure I was selling it with no apparent problems. He said that it was in almost unused condition, and showed some signs of oxidation and deterioration given the age, but is likely a problem free instrument, and I could sell it in good faith. He offered to buy it from me as he would go over the whole unit and sell it as a factory dealer certified per-owned unit. He indicated that I could benefit the most by selling it on the open market and had he not had one on the shelf he would offer a higher price. I am offering this unit to you for about 00 dollars less than the one he had on the shelf. And for slightly more than he offered me. He in my opinion was honest, very knowledgeable , and was looking out for himself as a businessman, me as a customer, and you as a perspective buyer, after I told him of my intentions. I will list it for a short time, and likely take him up on his offer , especially if he sells the one he has, and he is able to offer a little bit more. This is all hearsay, and I, and only I, am responsible for what I am representing, and he has not approved or disapproved of my interpretation of the described event. I feel excited about the sale of this unit, but there are no guarantees on my part and certainly not on the part of anyone else mentioned. It is recommended that it be cleaned and lubricated, but I want to leave that up the the buyer to do as they wish. There are savings to be had if you are able to do it yourself. This is the edge that you may save the thousand dollars in the difference of doing it yourself, or having it gone over by an expert, which I am not. Either way it is a great piece of craftsmanship that will be appreciated for many years in the future if handled correctly.  It still has the original case keys!.
As far as the specs, if you are looking in this league of hand made instruments, you already know much more than I can accurately offer. I have to leave it up to you to make sure this is what you want, and I will help the best I can with any questions. There are no returns on this Item for buyers remorse or undue diligence. I will give you three days to play the instrument and determine if there are any major problems that should have been apparent and not disclosed. Please indicate any problem immediately, and it must be returned in the exact condition it was received, as it will be documented by a third party of the shipped condition. There are some minor cosmetic flaws, and some oxidation of materials consistent with its age and the fact that it was stored in it's original box as well as it,s vinyl cover , and likely not taken out of it's box for a significant part of it's existence. There is a limit to the amount of pictures allowed, but I would be happy to forward as many as I can through the messaging system provided by Ebay of any close-ups you ask for. The technician pointed out to me that there is lack of wear in the usual places that he normally  sees from regular usage. Mostly needs cleaned and lubed if anything. If you want a third party opinion I will be happy to let someone look at it at your expense and reasonable convenience. For example a local music store near me of your choosing.
