Here's a unique opportunity to own one of the finest accordions, a Pigini Super Sirius Bayan C-System Chromatic Button Accordion with Converter/free bass.
Right hand: 106 buttons, 64 notes, C-system (C-griff). LMMH. Double cassotto: L and M in tone chamber. 15 register switches, 7 chin switches.
Left hand: 120 buttons, 58 chromatic free bass notes (C-system / C-griff), switch between Stradella and free bass, two register switches, additional switch to double notes in lowest octave.
The technician who has most recently maintained this accordion wrote, "The original tuning holds very well. Good compression and efficiency. The tonal range is impressive. This accordion has a rich, 'cathedral' type of sound. It projects very well.
If you can handle its weight and size of the instrument you would be absolutely amazed by its sound. It is definitely better than the new ones coming from the factory in the last 10 years, with better reeds and "thicker" tone. While I had the accordion open for the tuning I took some pictures of the interior with close-ups of the reeds. You would be able to appreciate the quality of manufacturing. If I remember well, the reeds are Magnatera, way better than the Artigiana Voci or Antonelli that you will find in the new Pigini."
