  • Condition: This original, restored, and linen backed movie poster displays sharp, solid, clear images that have excellent detail on a basically pristine background. The few, minor post-restoration flaws that exist are unobtrusive to the appearance of the poster. The prior Fold lines are barely visible but only under bright light and very close inspection while generally viewing the poster at an angle from the side. There is a tiny (1/8") dark reddish discoloration from the restoration in the maroon lettering at the top, specifically in the "D" in "DEAN", and the "R" in "RICKY". There is a tiny (1/16") dot at the bottom left above and to the left of "WITH PEDRO". There are no pin holes, no tears, and no tape or tape residue. There is no soiling or smudges. There is no loss of paper or color. The poster has a low gloss. This original is immediately ready to be framed and displayed with fantastic results. Please review the photos carefully.

    This is the original (1sh) movie poster
    RIO BRAVO.
    It was used to promote the film in theatres when it was released by
    Warner Brothers
    in 1959.
    It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars J
    ohn Wayne, Dean martin, Ricky Nelson, Angie Dickinson, Walter Brennan
    , John Russell, and Ward Bond.
    The movie was directed by Howard Hawks.
    Update August 28, 2018:
    I have added two pictures (the last 2 of the 12 pictures on this listing) to show two short lines on the bottom left to the left of the "L" at the left bottom corner.  We understand that these two lines have not appeared on other originals of
    RIO BRAVO
    .  From what we can tell, they would seem to be a production flaw, as they lines are straight and not jagged or crooked.   One is a bluish color, the other black.  By inspecting the entire poster, they are not run-off or smudges in our estimation as such blemishes would be less straight or uniform.  That said, we know that this is an original movie poster One Sheet of
    RIO BRAVO

    This restored movie poster is Rolled and linen backed.  The poster
    measures 27" x 41".
    The poster was rolled once it was linen backed.  With the linen backing, it now measures 28.25" x 42.75".  This poster was originally Folded.  Almost all original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded.  This is not considered a flaw or defect.
    This Restored movie poster is graded C8.5, or Very Fine to Near Mint.
    This grade is generally the highest grade a restored original movie poster can receive.  Original movie posters are graded, from the top down, as C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Very Good to Very Fine), C6 (Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc.  It is difficult to find any C10 (Mint) original movie posers pre 1985.
    Prior to restoration this poster was graded a C6.5 Fine Plus.  Restoration corrected wear along the edges, wear along the Fold lines
    , minor fold separations, minor creases, small tears, and pinholes in the corners.
    The poster is now beautiful and presents as pristine.
