    Description

Ok, I have been playing accordion for 50 years, but I'm not a technician. The instrument is not for beginners. It weighs approximately 38 pounds with the case. It does play well with not a lot of bellow air loss and the keys are still fluid with only a couple of them needing adjustments (see pics) - It has a switch bellows shutting (no clamps) mechanism which is not common. It also has buttons for treble and bass sound switches which are all working. You could use this to perform on stage right now, but there are a few flags/problems...
These are some things that will have to be addressed to bring this back to pristine condition:
    1. Some reeds will have to be replaced especially in the low treble register. Some lower notes gurgle/crackle a bit on some settings. I'm not sure how many reeds have to be replaced, but this instrument is worth the cost. It sounds beautiful with the clarinet setting and even has a bit of a musette sound. The Master setting gives a full Italian Accordion sound. This was Dick Contino's accordion of choice I believe. Like I said, it is a wonderful instrument even now...
    2. There is a problem with the connection clamps (or something) which is not allowing the bass side panel to close properly (see pic) - I did not want to mess with this.
    3. There are 2 areas (top and bottom) on either side of the grill that have black tape on them - maybe missing screws?
    4. A screw is missing connecting the grill, but it is not popping out (see pic)
    5. It has a lot of scratches and minor dings from years of playing I assume - character blemishes. I also noticed a 1" or so crack at the bottom. It might have been dropped. Nothing is completely shattered.
    6. It has that basement smell -- I believe a lot is coming from the case. I could not post any pics of the case, but it is still sturdy with all the hardware working properly. Once again, this will have to be aired out. A lot of basement smell...always a problem it seems with old accordions.
I will do my best to pack this well for shipping. The shipping cost is determined by weight and box size. I do not add any handling fees. I always worry about shipping accordions, but I have no use for this. I'm a Hohner guy and have a Morino V plus other Hohners in my collection. This reminds me of a Hohner Morino in size and playing ease and WEIGHT...ooo - My Back. Ask questions. This instrument is not perfect/mint, but it is certainly not totally trashed. A treasure that should be saved.
