    Description

Original U.S. Half-Sheet Poster (22x28) Fine Plus Condition
Original Warner Brothers Half Sheet Poster for the Elia Kazan masterpiece film of Tennessee Williams' play A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE (1951). Marlon Brando had played the role of Stanley Kowalski, Williams' brutish but handsome lout, in the Broadway production. He is pitted against the immortal Blanche DuBois, his delicate and neurotic sister-in-law, portrayed by Vivien Leigh. The film also stars Karl Malden and Kim Hunter. One of the great movies of the 1950s and one of the better films ever to be adapted from the stage. The half sheet poster emphasizes the ensemble cast rather than shining all the light on Brando and Leigh, and therefore we find it superior to the U.S. one-sheet. The poster has vivid color and is graded in fine plus condition. The poster was folded and most probably used in a theater. It has been expertly paper-backed and presents very nicely. Colors are vivid. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees that this poster is authentic. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
