.    It was issued when the movie was released by
Warner Bros and Hammer Film Productions
in 1957 to promote the film.  This is not a reprint nor a reproduction. The movie stars
Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Hazel Court, Robert Urquhart,
Valerie Gaunt, Melvyn Hayes, Anne Blake, Sally Walsh, Raymond Ray, and Paul Hardtmuth.
It was directed by Terence Fisher and is another Hammer Film Productions movie release under the Warner Bros label.
This restored movie poster is linen backed and rolled and measures 26.75" x 41.25".
With linen backing it measures 28.5" x 43". Prior to restoration and linen backing
this
poster was Folded.  Most original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded.  This is not considered a flaw.
This original movie poster is graded C8.5, Very Fine to Near Mint.
Original movie posters are graded, from the top down, as:  C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine or Excellent), C7 (Fine to Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc.  It is difficult to find any original movie posters pre 1985 in C10 (Mint) condition.  This original movie poster is immediately ready for framing and display.  We follow the general policy held by some other major original movie poster dealers in that we do not grade any restored original movie poster higher than a C8.5 Very Fine to Neat Mint, even if it deserves a higher grading.
Prior to restoration
this
original movie poster was graded a C8 Very Fine.  Restoration corrected the following flaws: pin holes in the corners, a punch hole in the image area, minor wear along the Fold Lines, and minor aging along the borders.
The poster now display beautifully.

has very good value and investment value.  This movie, along with
THE HORROR OF DRACULA
put Hammer Films into the vaulted position of The Hammer House of Horror, after which they made numerous horror films, many based on the old Universal monsters of Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, etc.  This poster's value is increased as Hammer movie memorabilia is sought after by both Hammer and horror fans and collectors alike.  The excellent condition of the poster at Very Fine/Near Mint (C8.5) also increases it value while the linen backing should help to maintain this excellent condition.
