Modification Description: Restored and linen backed.

Condition: This original, 1957, restored, and linen backed movie poster displays good solid color with excellent detail of the images on a clean background. There are some minor flaws that are generally unobtrusive to the poster. The prior Fold lines are barely visible but only under bright light and very close inspection, with a few Fold lines a tad more prominent than others. The prior Fold lines that are on the vanilla colored border are more visible as is the Fold line through Ms. Talton's image. But at a short distance they are still not obtrusive. The bottom border of the poster - not the linen - has some faint run off of green color, and some post restoration repair marks in dull white. Along the poster's border there is some wear and slight aging/browning. There are no pin holes, no tears, and no tape or tape residue. There is no soiling or smudges. There is no loss of paper or color. The poster has a low gloss. Please review the photos carefully.

to promote this movie when it was released in 1957. It is not a reprint nor a reproduction. The movie stars
Craig Stevens, William Hopper, Alix Talton, Donald Randolph, Pat Conway
, Florenz Ames, Paul Smith, Phil Harvey, Floyd Simmons, Paul Campbell, Helen Jay, Keith Aldrich, William A. Forester, and Paul Frees. It was directed by Nathan Juran.
This restored movie poster is rolled and linen backed and measures 30" x 40". With the linen, it measures 31.75" x 41.50".    Prior to restoration the poster had been Folded.
Most original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded. This is not considered a flaw or defect.
This original movie poster is graded C8 Very Fine.
Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc.
The pre-restoration grade was C5.5 Fine Minus. Restoration corrected
pinholes in the upper border, chips and tears in the borders and folds, and some paper loss in the "M" of "Mantis". Touchup was applied to the fold lines.
This poster has a very clean appearance and is immediately ready for framing and display.   The colors are excellent and the image is dramatic. The minor flaws that do exist, mostly some barely/slightly visible prior Fold lines, are not obtrusive at a short viewing distance and do not detract from the exceptional image of this poster. If you are interested in this poster but would like to see it with further restoration to address these minor flaws, we can do that for you and/or arrange for restoration. The increase in price would be offset but a larger increase in the investment value of the poster once further restored.
