  • Condition: This original, restored, and linen backed movie poster from 1958 displays sharp pastel colors coupled with excellent detail of the images on a very clean looking poster. The few, minor flaws that exist post restoration are not obtrusive at all. The prior Fold lines are barely visible but only under bright light and very close inspection. The top cross fold (a cross fold is where a vertical Fold line crosses with a horizontal Fold line) has some faint post restoration creasing. There is some slight fading on the bottom right, on the number assigned to the poster by NSS - "58/183". And on the bottom right there is some very minor and faint black smudging from the black on the poster under the words "ORIGIN" and "USA". There are no pin holes, no tears, and no tape or tape residue. There is no soiling. There is no loss of paper or color. The poster has a low gloss. Please review the photos carefully.

    This is the original (1sh) movie poster
    THE RETURN OF DRACULA

    It was used to promote the film in theatres when it was released by
    United Artists
    in 1958.   It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars
    Francis Lederer, Norma Eberhardt
    , Ray Stricklyn, John Wengraf, and Virginia Vincent.  It was directed by Paul Landres.
    The movie poster is Rolled and linen backed.  The poster
    measures 27" x 41".
    The poster was rolled once it was linen backed.  With the linen backing, it now measures 28.75" x 42.25".  This poster was originally Folded.  Almost all original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded.  This is not considered a flaw or defect.
    This Restored movie poster is graded C8.5, or Very Fine to Near Mint.
    This grade is generally the highest grade a restored original movie poster can receive.  Original movie posters are graded, from the top down, as C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Very Good to Very Fine), C6 (Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc.  It is difficult to find any C10 (Mint) original movie posers pre 1985.
    Originally, prior to restoration the poster was graded a C7.5, Very Fine Minus.  The restoration included repairs to slight fold separation and fold wear, pinholes, and very minor tears.
    This original poster is ready for framing and display immediately.  The very minor flaws - after restoration - noted above are not visible unless one does a very close inspection of the poster under bright light.  At a very short viewing distance, the poster appears flawless.

    Note:  The corners are held down by weights which is what you see in the photos.  The corners of the poster and the linen, as well as the edges all around are in excellent condition.
