The obverse:
from above is the coat of arms of the USSR with 15 turns of the tape, under it the letters "СССР" (USSR), below the face value of the coin - “1” and below the word “РУБЛЬ” (RUBLE). At the bottom of the border the year of issue "1987".
The reverse:
in the center of the coin is a symbolic image of a festive bow with the date "1917", the globe, sickle and hammer, and the cruiser "Aurora". At the bottom of the coin to the right, on the background of the laurel branch, is the inscription "70 ЛЕТ" (70 YEARS). This inscription is located in two lines. At the bottom of the coin along the rim there is a continuation of the inscription "ВЕЛИКОЙ ОКТЯБРЬСКОЙ СОЦИАЛИСТИЧЕСКОЙ РЕВОЛЮЦИИ" (... OF THE GREAT OCTOBER SOCIALIST REVOLUTION)
