WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST.
It was used by
American International
to promote this movie when it was released in 1958.  It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars
Duncan "Dean" Parkin, Sally Fraser, Roger Pace
, Russ Bender, Rico Alaniz, Charles Stewart, and Roy Gordon.
It was directed by Bery I. Gordon.
The artwork is by Albert Kallis.
This original movie poster is rolled and linen backed and measures 27" x 41".
With the linen, it measures 28.25" x " x 43".  Prior to restoration and linen backing, the poster was Folded.   Most original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded.  This is not considered a flaw or defect.
This original movie poster is graded C8.5, Very Fine/Near Mint.
Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc.
We follow a general policy used by some major original movie poster dealers in that the highest grade a restored original movie poster will receive is a C8.5 Very Fine to Near Mint.  We believe that policy recognizes
that a restored poster had flaws and should or would not
reach
the status
of C9 (Near Mint) or C10 (Mint), as if the poster just came off the production line in pristine condition.
This is one of our original movie posters that we recently had restored and linen backed (in the Summer of 2022), and, as such, we identified as many flaws on the pre-restoration poster as we could to have them corrected.
The pre-restoration grade was C8 Very Fine.
Restoration corrected:
a. Separation at the top cross Fold right between the BEAST’s eyes;
b.
Wear at the middle and bottom cross Folds;
c.
Black smudges on the left near the bottom under the “ST’ in “STARRING”;
d.
Red line on the right border near the bottom in the “A” in “COLOSSAL”;
e.
White spec (production flaw?) on the bottom half to the right of “E” in “THE”;
f.
Wear with some white showing through on the bottom Horizontal Fold line; and
g.
Reddish spec on the top border above the “O” in “TOWERING” in the vanilla border area.
After restoration, this original movie poster now displays beautifully. It has a very clean appearance with solid and rich colors and iconic B-movie images.  And the details of the images are excellent.

has excellent value and investment value.   It is part of the many 1950's and 1960's sci-fi and horror movies of those two great decades, and the original movie posters of these (I call) "classic" movies are always in high demand from collectors and fans alike.  The investment value is also increased by the high grade of C8.5 (Very Fine/Near Mint) of this poster, while the linen backing will ensure its longevity.
