This is an Original (Not a Reproduction or Re-Release) 1950’s Stock One Sheet Movie Poster folded as issued from WILD BILL HICKOK: PHANTOM TRAILS: The
1950s stock posters
created by Newhall for use by theaters showing releases of western movies starring Guy Madison (in the title role) and Andy Devine ("as Jingles"). These movies were created by combining episodes of the "Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok" TV series. Theaters would order these posters
which had a large blank area. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they were sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area.
This Poster is in EXCELLENT condition with minor fold & edge wear. There are NO pinholes, tape or restoration.
