This is a Set of Original (Not a Reproduction or Re-Release) 1953 One Sheet Movie Poster folded as issued and a set of Three (2) Lobby Cards from
WILD BILL HICKOK: SIX GUN DECISION: The
stock posters and lobby cards created by Newhall for use by theaters showing releases of western movies starring Guy Madison (in the title role) and Andy Devine ("as Jingles"). These movies were created by combining episodes of the "Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok" TV series. Theaters would order these posters and lobby cards which had a large blank area. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they were sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area.
The Poster is in GOOD condition with pinholes in the border (some larger due to rough removal) tearing & paper loss on the edges & on the fold lines (repaired on the back), a tear on the lower graphic (repaired on the back) and paper loss in the lower right corner (repaired on the back)
The Lobby Cards are in VERY GOOD condition with pinholes in the borders & in some graphics, light smudging in the borders and edge wear.
